January 21st, 2014
Dear Parents,
Welcome back! It’s been a couple of weeks back at school and I hope your family had an excellent holiday and that 2014 will be a great year. This term is a very busy and an important learning time for the children. Please make sure they are here on time, as it affects their learning when they come in late and it disrupts the learning of the other students in the classroom.  Classes start at 8:45.
Please make sure your child is dressed to go outside at recess and lunch time, as students are sent outside with temperatures -15 and warmer. Also, shoes, boots, jackets etc. should have their names on them for easy identification. All students must have inside shoes for safety reasons.

TWOONIE FOR A TEDDY AND A TREAT
Our librarian, Mrs. Flury has organized a very special fundraiser; students bring in $2 (a TWOONIE) and they will receive a Stuffy (Teddy) and a treat. If you have any slightly used (but not abused) stuffies to donate could you please send them to our librarian. The Toonie for a treat will happen in the sping. We will send specific dates in the near future.
FOUNDATION SKILLS ASSESSMENT (FSAs)
The FSAs are a mandatory provincial assessment for all grade 4 students in the areas of Reading, Writing, and Numeracy. We will be completing the assessments from January 21st to Feb 8th so it is important that your child is here for these dates. Please contact the school if you have any questions.
Here is a link that highlights the FACTS about the FSAs from the Ministry of Education:
