Parents/Guardians:

DENNY MORRISON HOMECOMING

Canadian Speed skater and Winter Olympic medal winner, Denny Morrison will be visiting his hometown of Fort St. John and we are lucky enough to have him visit our school on Wednesday April 9th at 1:30 in the gym. This will be a wonderful opportunity for our DC students to meet Denny Morrison!

PARKING (NOT ENOUGH PARKING SPACES)

Just a reminder to parents that the parking lot at the school is for staff, we have over 30 staff members and often there is no place for them to park when they arrive at school! We are asking parents to drop your child(ren) off at school but to not park for extended periods in the parking lot.  We appreciate your consideration and support in this matter.

SPRING CARNIVAL

Please join us for our first Annual Spring Carnival on Thursday April 10, 2014 from 6-8pm.  There will be a clown, bouncy castle, games, popcorn, candy bags, prizes and a cake walk. The games are between 2 to 4 tickets.  Tickets are $0.25 each.  Children must be accompanied by an adult. Come out for a night of family fun and support your school.

Please Note: We are still looking for some donations of small items to put in our gift baskets as prizes for carnival; those can be dropped off at the office, thanks! Hope to see everyone there!

SPRING FUNDRAISERS

Thank you for supporting our spring fundraisers – Vesey’s Bulbs and Steeped Tea!

SATISFACTION SURVEY

The Provincial Satisfaction Survey is unique in its scope, size and usefulness to schools. It gathers information from parents, teachers and students on topics related to school environment, safety, and achievement. The information is used for planning in individual schools and provides a district and provincial perspective.

In April 2014 the Satisfaction Survey will be administered to students in grades 4 and, their parents, and all school staff. We encourage parents to participate in this survey, as the results are important in identifying and celebrating current strengths, as well as determining where the school needs to focus improvement. The surveys contain standard questions for the Province – in addition, questions from the school and/or district that focus on local conditions or issues may be included.

The survey can be completed electronically and can be accessed on the Internet at http://www.bced.gov.bc.ca/sat_survey. Any computer with an Internet connection can be used, and access to the e-survey is simple and secure. All that is required is a logon number that the school will provide to participants. Provincial, District and School Reports for previous years can be viewed at the same site, without a logon number.

SCHOOL INFORMATION SIGN

Just to let parents know that we have an information sign outside of the school (you can’t miss it), which has important dates for upcoming events. We will update it once a month.
