Food Bank Donations and Gift Basket

Food Bank donations will be accepted from December 1^st – December 18th.

For every donation brought, students can put their name in for a draw for a chance to win a gift basket. Please have your child bring food bank items to their classroom, and we will make sure they receive a ticket for each item brought for the draw for the gift basket. The winning name will be drawn the evening of the Christmas concert!

Coles Book Store Adopt a School Program

This year the Indigo Adopt a school program through our local Coles Book Store has chosen Duncan Cran School as a recipient. In this program, Coles raises money through their generosity and the generosity of our Fort St John community. As a result of the program, Duncan Cran received $1900 in gift certificates to go towards books for our Library. In addition, Coles gave us 10 favorite “staff pick” books as a bonus. When we went down to Coles to receive the books, they surprised us by generously giving us an additional $5000 in books. On behave of all of the students and staff at Duncan Cran we want to thanks Coles Book Store for their amazing generosity!!!! Thank you!!!

Pajama Drive

Duncan Cran School once again, will be collecting new Pajamas for a Christmas Pajama Drive. If you have ever received a new pair of Christmas pajamas as a child you know how great it feels to snuggle in for the night and wait for Santa in your new pj’s. Many needy children have never experienced this. Thus began, THE CHRISTMAS PAJAMA DRIVE.

HERE’S HOW YOU CAN HELP… by DECEMBER 11th We changed the date to make it longer!!

• Purchase NEW PJ’s (sizes newborn to 16yrs) and drop them off at Duncan Cran under our Christmas tree. Thank you for helping and teaching our children about philanthropy.

 Christmas Concert:

This year, Duncan Cran students will be putting on a traditional Christmas concert, all classes will be performing your favorite Christmas songs. The concert will be on Thursday, December 17^th, with two performances; at 1pm, and 7pm. Parents/Guardians are welcome!!!

Next PAC meeting;

The next PAC meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, December 8th at 7:00pm in the Duncan Cran library. As always, babysitting will be provided.

Is Your Child Absent?  Is Your Child Late to School?

We have the Kid Check Program at our school.  This means if your child has been marked absent our secretary will call each home to verify the absence.  This is a very important but time consuming job.  Please ensure that you phone in any absences and if your child is late, they need to check in at the office!

Christmas Holidays

Please note that the last day of classes before the Christmas break is Friday, December 18^th. First day of classes after the Christmas break is Monday, January 4^th, 2016.
