Duncan Cran is participating in the Canadian Geographic Classroom Energy Diet Challenge. Â The Challenge runs from February 6 – March 30, 2012. Â In this contest classrooms are trying to complete 25 Energy Challenges. Â The purpose of the Challenge is to think about Energy and how to reduce Energy use.

We had the entire school jump rope for 15 minutes to support Jump Rope for Heart, promoting healthy living and an active heart. We even had a few students go outside to jump rope!

Today, February 23, Duncan Cran is a buzz with Science Fair Frenzy… Thanks to Mrs. Todd and our enthusiastic students and teachers, the gym is full of exciting science fair projects… 9 of which will be chosen to go to the District Science Fair.
March of the Penguins…
Today (February 23/2012) we had a very special visitor, Mr. Sloan our Assistant Superintendant who has visited the south pole to take photographs of penguins. Here he is presenting an informative and entertaining slide show on the penguins he has captured on film!

Metis Dance Performance
We had a fantastic Metis dance performance, oganized by Bev Lambert. She travels to schools teaching students about Metis dance and traditions to a select group of students in the morning, then in the afternoon, the students and her put on a show for the whole school.
